APEC offers a great opportunity for scout groups to achieve their badges and become exposed to environmental topics in a hands-on and personal manner. Crafts, realia, animal time, experiments, and a hike are major components of most of our scout programs.
Badge Programs- These programs are geared towards helping the scouts fulfill a specific badge or achievement. Included in the program are relevant lessons, activities, and experiments to help scouts complete their badge requirements. For each program different animal ambassadors or nature walks are used as a resource to enrich the scouts’ connection to their badge.
What we offer:
Badge Program (1.5 hours) - $135 (up to 15 participants) +$8 for each additional participant
Extended Badge Program (2 hours) - $175 (up to 15 participants) +$8 for each additional participant
NOTE: For older scouts investigating science and nature on a more advanced level we offer extended and half day programs. These intensive programs cover all the information required to gain proficiency on the chosen environmental topic. Often times Merit Badges require these 2 or even 3 hour long programs to complete all requirements. The program involves an interactive presentation, a merit badge worksheet, activities, animals, or nature walks.
GENERAL PROGRAMS - These programs provide opportunity for scouts groups to engage with nature and live animals up close. They can serve to supplement a badge or simply to celebrate the environment! Scout groups will meet some of our animal ambassadors during the first half of the program and then conclude their program with a hike through the park’s trails.
General Program (1 hour) - $100 (up to 15 participants) +$8 for each additional participant
