Our lessons, designed by APEC educators to supplement and enhance your homeschool environmental education curricula, will include age appropriate hands-on activities with a focus on outdoor learning. Be sure your child dresses for outdoor nature walks and activities! Classes are limited to 10 participants.

Our winter homeschool series is the perfect way for your child to learn about how the animal and plant world are adapting and surviving this time of year. Are the trees still alive? How do animals and birds get their food? We will explore the wonders of this season with informative lessons, fun activities and by observing nature on our beautiful trails. Winter has been the inspiration for stories, poem, and art. Space is limited. A minimum of 6 students are required to run this program.

Registration Policy:
Pre-registration is required for all programs.
When registering for a program, please note the required ages for children. If your child’s date of birth does not fall within the required age range, the registration system will not allow you to register for the program.
Cancellation Policy:
Homeschool workshop fees are non-refundable. If APEC cancels the workshop series, a refund will be issued. No refunds or credits will be given for any missed classes
The environmental center is located in Alley Pond Park, surrounded by lush nature trails where visitors can enjoy NYC's natural landscapes. Guests are welcome to attend one of APEC's many nature oriented programs for all ages and visit the center's animal ambassadors. Please explore our website to learn more and register for programs.
