Ready for adventure? Join Mr. Zach as he takes us into nature to teach us about the world around us! Explore different environments and learn about some crazy creatures!
Try these hands-on activities & experiments
Make a nest using materials you have around the house. Challenge yourself not to use any glue!
Grab some markers and leaves to make your leaf prints. Examine the different shapes of your leaves. Check out the veins! What do they do for the leaf?
Make your own cloud animals using cotton balls or make the different types of clouds.
Us some pencils, rubber bands, & cardboard to make your own paddleboat & learn how they work.
Tightly place cling wrap on a bowl, pour start sprinkles on, & start humming. Watch how sound waves make sprinkles dance!
Maple seeds are always fun to play with. Find a few and glue them onto a stick to make your very own dragonfly!
Investigate gas laws and properties such as pressure, volume, and temperature. How are they all related?
Grab those toilet paper rolls and make your own bird with its own special adaptations!

The environmental center is located in Alley Pond Park, surrounded by lush nature trails where visitors can enjoy NYC's natural landscapes.
